I'm Back!

Took a little sabbatical unintentionally due to other competing priorities and distractions.  Sounds like something I’d say at work: “competing priorities and distractions." Nevertheless, some really great things have happened since my last blog. One I’m most excited about is that I spoke at an event

hosted annually by Heavenly C Ministries led by my brother and sister in the Lord, Jeff and Cheryl Cook.  I was able to give my testimony of how “Josie’s Daughter” came to be and they distributed my business cards and flyers.  This gave me the opportunity to share and encourage other women and even provide my pastor and his wife with a card and flyer the next day and request prayer for my business.

As I explained my business to my pastor, he asked if I had already started it.  My answer was that I have started but I’ve had no customers.  He then described it perfectly. He said, “Oh, you’ve built the barn and are waiting on the harvest.” I could not have described it better.  It gave me a different perspective. I shared this with a friend while walking and she later sent me a quote that said “God’s timing may look slow to you, but it’s always intentional. You’re not behind. You’re being prepared.” More encouraging words.  Thank the Lord!

I now realize that the harvest doesn’t just show up. I have to plant, sow, water, prune, and till the ground. I have to do my part and what He’s told me to do which is write.  So I will.

I'm reminded of these three scriptures:

  • John 14:15 “If you love me, keep my commandments.”

  • Psalm 37:5 “Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.”

  • Proverbs 3:5-6 ”Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

So, I’m back!
