Same Distance, Longer Ride.
Today I drove to Cincinnati to work so I could meet a former coworker who I hadn't seen in years for lunch. The distance from home to Cincinnati and home to Miamisburg are about the same. However, it took 55 minutes to get to downtown Cincinnati, and it only takes 35 minutes to get to Miamisburg. Why does it take so long to go the same distance? Because there are different obstacles that get in the way like traffic, accidents and construction. Mainly there seems to be more pe

UT or not UT? There really was no question.
I would often tease my mom when I told the story of choosing the college I would attend. It started in high school when my counselor said I should apply for an engineering scholarship since I had good math and science grades. So, I did but all the while I was planning to go to the University of Kentucky where my boyfriend was attending. I already had received scholarships there in math and computer science. However, my counselor called my home to tell me that I was accepted i

I Know That Feeling!
Today I went to the theatre to see the first 3 episodes of Season 4 of The Chosen. It’s getting pretty intense as the story unfolds. One I’m most excited about is that I spoke at an event hosted annually by Heavenly C Ministries led by my brother and sister in the Lord, Jeff and Cheryl Cook. I was able to give my testimony of how “Josie’s Daughter” came to be a

It's A New Season
The song “It’s a New Season” by Martha Munizzi currently describes my life. The lyrics say: It’s a new season. It’s a new day. Fresh anointing flowing my way. It’s a season of power and prosperity. It’s a new season coming for me. With every new season comes transition. We are currently transitioning from summer to fall even though it feels like summer to winter. The leaves are changing and falling. It’s getting darker sooner. Stores are displaying Christmas items and dec

I Got Your Back
Yesterday toward the end of my biweekly check-in with my manager, he told me that there was a request for me to relinquish my office. Well, the backdrop is that employees from another building are being asked to vacate a building and move into my building. Fortunately, my manager pushed back and refused to approve of my displacement. He requested the floor plan of the building where he saw the many empty offices and cubicles and that I sit among my HR colleagues. I was so gla
